FAQs
What makes a session with you different from other therapy experiences? At Core + Flow, every session is designed just for you. You get personalized, one-on-one guidance from a board-certified occupational therapist with nearly 17 years of clinical experience, including advanced training in pelvic health. We focus on practical strategies that fit your life and your body, not cookie-cutter protocols. You have the flexibility to meet wherever you feel most comfortable, at home, on Zoom, or even outside, and sessions move at your pace so you can start feeling relief from day one. This combination of deep expertise, tailored care, and real-world approach is what makes our practice truly sparkle. I come from a place of genuinely wanting to figure out what works for you, meet you where you are, and find strategies that help you function and thrive in your everyday life and your world.
I see your background is in occupational therapy. What is that and what does it mean for me? Occupational therapy is all about helping you do the things that matter in your daily life, called activities of daily living, or ADLs. This includes everything from toileting, sex, and managing periods, to bladder, bowel, and uterus function. My training allows me to look at the whole picture: your body systems, your habits, your environment, and even the mental and emotional aspects of how you experience these challenges. This is called a biopsychosocial approach, and for you, it means we address not just symptoms, but what’s getting in the way of your real-life function and confidence. We work on building strong foundations now so you feel truly engaged and motivated, giving you tools and strategies that stick. OTs are also expert nervous system translators, and can figure out how to give you more balance and calm. The goal is for you to feel better, function fully, and hopefully never need to come back, though we’d always love to see your face!
Do I need to see a doctor first? Nope! You do not need a doctor’s referral. You can come directly to us for OT services and we will help you every step of the way.
What are the perks of private pay? With private pay, there’s no waiting on insurance authorizations or approvals. That means we don’t waste time on excessive paperwork or following a strict evaluation-before-treatment process. From day one, we get started with interventions that actually help you feel better and make progress. Sessions are fully flexible. I can come to your home, meet on Zoom, or even meet outside or at another location if it makes sense for comfort, confidence, or carrying over our strategies into real life. Time is on your side. I’m not bound by arbitrary session lengths or the number of appointments dictated by insurance. We can work more intensively and efficiently, often achieving more in fewer sessions. Every session is 1:1 therapy, focused entirely on you, your needs, and your goals. You also get the freedom to try creative approaches and tools that traditional insurance won’t cover. Sliding scales, gift certificates, occasional specials, and group programs are all possible. Costs are upfront and transparent, so there are no surprise co-pays, deductibles, or restrictions. Private pay gives us the space to innovate, problem-solve, and deliver therapy that actually works for your life, your schedule, and your body.
What ages do you work with? We work with folks with a uterus from adolescence to post-menopause. Generally speaking we see kids 8+, but please reach out with specific inquiries, as we can make exceptions.
Who is Core + Flow for? Core + Flow is for anyone with a uterus who wants to feel confident, comfortable, and in control of their body. Whether you’re a tween just starting your period, a teen navigating changes, an adult managing pelvic floor or period-related symptoms, or a parent supporting your child, our services meet you where you are. We also support people experiencing bladder, bowel, or pelvic concerns, and offer guidance for everyday function, movement, and wellness. Our approach is practical, evidence-based, and personalized. You’ll get hands-on strategies, education, and tools tailored to your life—so you can manage symptoms, improve comfort, and thrive without judgment. Core + Flow is for anyone ready to take charge of their pelvic and period health in a supportive, safe, and empowering space. We are LGBTQ+ friendly, trauma-informed, and ready to meet you where you are. Please reach out and ask if you have specific concerns for a non-uterus owner!
Where do sessions take place? We bring the experience to you. Our sessions are concierge-style, meaning we travel to your home, studio, or chosen space so you don’t have to worry about logistics. This makes it easy, comfortable, and private for you (and your child, when applicable!) Being in your own space helps everyone feel relaxed, safe, and ready to learn, so the focus stays on connection, confidence, and practical skills (not rushing out the door or adjusting to a new environment). Plus, skills are immediately applicable to your real life.
Do you work just 1:1, or in groups? Both! We love our 1:1 individualized sessions, AND we love group workshops. We work with your specific needs and what fits best.
